Niyati Desai joined OCF in March 2020 as the Director of Community Engagement and has over 12 years of experience in developing, managing and evaluating community engagement initiatives and programs. Niyati comes to OCF after leading the community outreach and engagement team at OHSU Knight Cancer Institute where she established a range of programs to increase collaboration between communities and researchers. Through extensive travels she developed a deeper understanding of the diverse needs of all Oregonians. Niyati is a budding ceramicist and loves to travel, garden and see live music. She lives in Northeast Portland with her husband, Nicolaus, stepson Mason and cat, Bowie.
