May 25, 2023 Philanthropy Forum: Flexible Beneficiary Trusts with Jonathan G. Blattmachr
Thursday, May 25, 2023 12:00 PM-1:30 PM | FREE
This presentation explained in detail how to structure and administer a trust that does not require current payments (as a marital deduction trust must) so that income taxation can be reduced overall, asset protection enhanced and the wealth of the family increased. It showed why allowing distributions to other family members, including a descendant's spouse, a special kind of charitable remainder trust, a special kind of charitable lead trust and a qualified subchapter S trust can help accomplish those goals. It also demonstrated why distributions to charity typically should be made from a trust rather than from an individual.
