Nov. 9, 2023: Family Matters: How Business-Owning Families Can work Together for a Unified Future with Claudia Sangster
Thursday, November 9, 2023 12:00 PM-1:30 PM | FREE
Much of the wealth in America today has come from family-owned businesses. But the likelihood of successful transitions of family businesses to the third generation and beyond can be low without proper planning. This presentation will explore how the family can mitigate failure and some best practices to strengthen the business and the family over multiple generations.
Claudia B. Sangster has over 30 years of experience in advising individuals and families in financial education, family governance and philanthropy, including a role as Co-Director of Family Education and Governance in Wealth Management at the Northern Trust Company. Claudia collaborates with clients, their advisors and wealth planning partners to identify and establish educational programs and governance structures for multi-generational families. Claudia earned a J.D. from the University of Houston College of Law and is a frequent speaker and author on topics including values, finance and family legacy, as well as trends in family education, governance and philanthropy.
Continuing education credits may be available pending application through the Oregon State Bar, Oregon Board of Accountancy and CFP Board.
