Closing Performance
Sebé Kan is a West African drum and dance performance company with 32 youth members ages 7–18. Their instructors, drummers and dancers study and perform works from Mali, Guinea and Ivory Coast. Sebé Kan (pronounced SAY-BAY-KAHN) is a Malinké word meaning “Serious Sound,” something that was predestined. Sebé Kan believes its members and audiences share an important connection to West Africa through music and dance.
