"Generations"

The Oregon State Song Anthology is a statewide music movement inviting communities to reflect on and shape Oregon’s shared cultural identity through listening, participation and song. Part of America 250 — the commemoration of the nation’s 250th anniversary — the Anthology expands Oregon’s story through memory, creativity and belonging. “Generations” is a centerpiece of this work that reflects a path grounded in inclusion, intergenerational connection and Indigenous creative leadership. Oregon’s original state song was written in the 1920s with few voices. This song affirms that culture is not fixed in the past — it is something we create, carry and renew together. Learn more here

Lyrics:
From the sparkling big river to the sun-kissed coast/
High desert treasure and forests of the south/
We are the people here to care for this land/
For seven generations, our beautiful Oregon!
