The BottleDrop Fund
Increasing grantmaking in the area of environmental education.
The BottleDrop Fund of Oregon Community Foundation was established in 2018 by the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC), a nonprofit cooperative of private beverage distributors that implements Oregon's bottle deposit and redemption program. OBRC operates this program at a lower cost per container than any other redemption system in North America.
History and Purpose
The BottleDrop Fund was created to further the goal of Oregon’s innovative Bottle Bill: to keep Oregon beautiful through innovative programs. Any year in which the container redemption rate drops below 80%, the target set by the Oregon Legislature, OBRC will invest the unredeemed deposits not required to operate the system into the BottleDrop Fund at OCF.
The BottleDrop Fund partners with the Gray Family Foundation to increase grantmaking in the area of environmental education. To find out more and to apply, please visit the Gray Family Foundation.
