Uplifting communities through flexible and equitable grants.

What if a rural community gets access to local medical services? How do we get nutritious meals into the hands of food insecure children? Where can people find shelter in my town? Every day, questions like these are answered by Oregon’s nonprofits.

Oregon’s 22,000+ nonprofits and other organizations are addressing social issues and empowering their communities. As our state has grown, so has the complexity of issues facing Oregonians.

For nearly 30 years, OCF’s Community Grants program has invested in nonprofit missions and services, and the Stronger Together Fund directly supports this program. Through a bi-annual grant application process, Oregon-based organizations can apply for project funding or flexible operating funds. This grant program is responsive to community needs and supports lasting solutions that come from those closest to the work.

Each year Community Grants awards between $10-11 million dollars. Funds are invested in communities across all 36 counties in Oregon. We continue to see the need for equitable and flexible grants—the total amount of need requested each year is around $40 million. This means we can provide roughly one in four requested grant dollars.

Donor gifts to the Stronger Together Fund directly support our Community Grant program and is our broadest, most accessible grant-making program.

We hope you will consider giving to grow this program’s capacity.
