Program Officer, Scholarships
In his role as OCF’s program officer for scholarships, Matthew leads one of the largest programs of its kind in the country—awarding thousands of scholarships every year to support students’ higher education ambitions. He is animated by the broad goal of improving affordability of post-secondary education for Oregonians, and working with donors, nonprofits, and state and local government to help achieve it.
Prior to OCF, Matthew most recently worked at Reed College as the Director of Admission Operations and as the Director of Fellowship Programs at the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS). He received a bachelor’s in political science and Spanish, and a master’s and doctorate in political science.
When not working, Matthew is an avid cyclist, enjoys woodworking, and whatever other myriad distractions he’s fallen into that month.
