Sonja McKenzie is a native Texan (Katy, Tx) who has lived in Portland for 20 years. She is a busy mom to 4 teens (including 15 year old identical twin girls!) that all attend Parkrose High School. Sonja has worked in nonprofits as a Volunteer Coordinator, Program Coordinator over the last 10 years, most recently working for Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette as their Volunteer Coordinator for the past 2 years. Sonja is a Certified Volunteer Administrator and also actively engaged in the community herself as a volunteer.
Sonja is an elected Board member serving the Parkrose School District. In addition, Sonia serves as Board Chair for Dress for Success Oregon. She is also a Regional Director for the Oregon School Board Members of Color Caucus, and was recently appointed to the Oregon School Boards Association for Multnomah County. In Sonja’s spare time she loves to explore libraries/bookstores and take road trips to the coast.
